Because I owe you...

...A photo post. I keep promising to show you pictures and then I don't. So consider this a catch-up of sorts.

Absolutely ages ago (sometime in July), I promised I'd show you pics of how we transformed our spare bedroom. So here it is before (at this stage we had moved the furniture out, done a test patch on the wall and covered the floor with drop sheets):

And here it is after. Those pictures above the bed are the ones I created when TSC was away (I also painted the lamp shades. But they're not as pretty, IMO):

Here are the requested pics from my jungle style veggie garden. I tried to take ones where you can't see all the weeds on my pathways (I still have to find some money to get gravel to make proper paths). This pic shows my beetroot, mielies and the mint in the background. There's also baby marrow plants in between, which I'm hoping will climb up the frame.

And this one shows my aubergines (eggplant) in the foreground, the green peppers behind them and right in the background you can see some onions, lavendar and the Peppadew bush.

Lastly, some Just Joey roses from the garden, just because they are gorgeous:

Note: Blogger is buggering around again, so if you saw this post go up without the photos, sorry. It's taken me three attempts to get them to load properly.

Quite the home-improvement. Going to call you Tim instead of Tam. :)

Anon: Well, yes actually ;-) Only kidding. You obviously saw this post mid-Blogger tantrum. Sorry about that.

Ches: Hehehe... clever you. So logn as you're not calling me a TimTam. Delicious as they are, I'm not sure I'm keen to be likened to a chocolate biscuit ;-)

Love the pics. Your roses are gorgeous. Time I did a rose post actually.

And well done on the painting.

Quite the artiste!

Sleepyjane: Thank you. It's currently my favourite room in the house ;-)

Shayne: I'd love to see a rose post from you! The paintings were really simple - cherry blossoms from Mr Price stuck onto my painted backgrounds. I haven't found enough time to do a proper painting this year, although I have a canvas ready. But the holidays are coming!

That room looks so beauriful. It really does. Please will you be my interior decorator if I ever grow up and get a house one day? Purple is my favourite colour, I want a room that looks just like that!

LOL yeah when I came there was nothing, no pics and no text, nice spare bedroom, very light and pretty, perfect for guests :) and its so cool you made those pictures and the lampshades, really nice work.

Thanks for the pics of the veggie garden, the rose is lovely.

I am horribly jealous of your veggie garden. It's really fantastic. What veggie do you recommend for growing in a tiny space and that would most likely have to be pot-bound?

That room is stunning! And the veggie garden is looking amazing too! I hope it copes with the cold weather!

Po: Hehehe... Purple is my fave colour too. I have given myself the spare room to go purple mad, and TSC is relieved that the rest of the house stays non-mauve ;-)

Louisa: Awww, thanks.

Damaria: Wish I could post their scent up here too!

Anon: Sorry about that - not quite sure what was going on.

DBAWIW: Hmmm... there are loads of veggies that do well in pots. Spinach, cherry tomatoes, radishes, green peppers, strawberries (not a veggie, but likes pots)... Also most herbs. They just need enough sunlight, water and quality soil.

Helen: The veggies seem to be surviving better than I am ;-)

Forever Feline: Ja - It's huge. There's actually another single bed on the other side of the room. We're very lucky to have large sunny rooms in the house.

Slyde: Why thank you, kind sir ;-)

Jenty: Love Just Joeys and they seem relatively easy to take care of.

Meriel: Thanks ;-)

NiKolas: Aw, thanks, dude. If I'm ever in the area I'll have to drop by with a bucket of paint and some new curtains for you ;-)
