- What should I get my mom for Mother's Day?
- If I used my modem to connect to the net at my folks house, why won't it work at my house if my line really is ADSL-ready (Telkom says it is)?
- Why do our office technology issues just get worse (yesterday we had no electricity the entire day)?
- What would you ask Jacob Zuma, South Africa's soon-to-be president, if you had a face-to-face chat with him?
- What's the best thing about winter?
- Are there any good books I should be reading?
- If you're South Africa, did you vote last week? And if not, why not?
- What's the nicest compliment you've ever been given?

Let me try:
1. My mom has everything and if she wants something she buys it for herself so I tend to just go the pamper route. Although this year my sister and I are so proud, we got my mom an iPod shuffle. She's been eyeing my dad's nano and my sister managed to get the shuffle in London at a good price - she's going to be so chuffed.
Why don't you book for your mom and you to go for massages or pedi's together - I bet your mom will love having your time and your company!
2. No clue, sorry! Our internet has never worked so we just stopped it.
3. Because you shouldn't be working, you should be going for a massage or drinking a glass of wine or both!
4. Are you a crook? He never did answer the question during his BBC interview for the doccie No more Mandelas and I would like to hear his answer not a side-step of him asking the question back.
5. I hate winter, but I do love cuddling up to my man. I love the fashion. And I love going for meals at cosy restaurants with lots of red wine.
6. I'm reading Fashion Babylon which is not necessarily good but it is fun! But I love fashion - think that is a prerequisite to reading it.
7. Of course I voted!
8. Hmm I try to remember compliments for those down days. I have had some goodies but recently someone said that they have not met someone has kind-hearted as me. I liked that.
Yay! I get first comment!
1. mother's day is a tough one, I would try to do something special - book an afternoon for bonding time or buy her flowers or make dinner or something.
2.The world of ADSL will never cease to confuse me. Do you need proxy settings for your home-network or something? Try dial-a-nerd, I called them once and they were really fantastic! they also have an on-call service, I think they have a branch in Sunninghill...
3. Because it's all out to get you!
4.I have no idea, there are a lot of things I'd like to say... and ask... I'm watching him with interest!
5.Running up and down mountains after lizards? I love scarves, and cuddling up in front of a movie. We have a fireplace at home and if it gets really cold we have a fire and I spend most of the day in front of it, with whatever I'm working on. I love not being hot and uncomfortable, and going running without getting too uncomfortable. and that burning in your lungs when you run and it's cold... and I love soup. Winter is good for soup, particularly tomato, butternut or sweet potato.
6. I'm reading "around africa on my bicycle" at the moment, it's very interesting and inspiring!
7. I did! I got flu, but I like to think it was worth it!
8. I overheard someone telling someone else something about me once, and I think that was the best - there was no hidden agenda!
so close! Should have hit 'send' half a minute earlier!
lol sorry Helen
- Mothers day present, probably won't get my mother anything so can't help you out there, maybe perfume?
- so your folks line is definitely ADSL? and you have an adsl router? must be something in your settings
- offiec tech, err no problems by mine so...
- well I have a good chance of one day meeting him, maybe having lunch if I can arrange it, I'd ask him if he had a job for me or if we can take a photo together :)
- best thing about winter: wearing jackets over everything so it doesnt matter whats underneath, the snow if you're in the right place
- books: hmmm reading old stuff at the moment, nothing new to recommend
- In S.A but did not vote, was too lazy, went to a strip club the night before and was tiredddd, plus the day was busy so in the evening when I could have gone I couldn't have been bothered, if I had gone I would have voted DA if you're curious, but don't tell JZ that when I meet him :P
- nicest compliment, well it felt good when my dad said he's proud of me last year, and it's always nice when people tell you you're beautiful. I think a great compliment is someone falling in love with you, that out of everyone they choose you.
-C.
the best things about my current winter is that it no longer involves ice and snow. For those who've lived it - it's not pretty after the first fall.
* What should I get my mom for Mother's Day? A spa voucher?
* If I used my modem to connect to the net at my folks house, why won't it work at my house if my line really is ADSL-ready (Telkom says it is)? Telkom lied
* Why do our office technology issues just get worse (yesterday we had no electricity the entire day)? Maybe they didnt pay the bill?
* What would you ask Jacob Zuma, South Africa's soon-to-be president, if you had a face-to-face chat with him? Nothing I would smack him with those blow up cricket bats - he has that kind of face
* What's the best thing about winter? Snuggles and cuddles
* Are there any good books I should be reading? No idea - you could read my economics text book if you like?
* If you're South Africa, did you vote last week? And if not, why not? I did yes
* What's the nicest compliment you've ever been given? Lately I have been getting lots - cant think of just one!
I have no answers, just one question, why are you so full of questions?
I have no answers either, if I did I would write a book and make lots of money. He he..Po's comment is funny!
• Cupcakes!
• Erm… because it doesn’t like your modem?
• Eskom hates you?
• I’d ask him whether he has coaching to be able to talk so much crap.
• The cold! Love it!
• Anne Rice’s “Christ The Lord Out Of Egypt”
• I did indeed vote.
